THE TOAD AND TART PUB 06/17/2005

We're quite regular visitors to St. Thomas. Restaurants seem to come and go and some of our favorite places have disappointingly changed hands over the years for the worse. We were on a Captain Nautica trip to the Baths and one of the crew suggested we go to The Toad and Tart Pub. We realized that we'd driven past it and were curious but had never been in there.
We stopped by on a Monday but it was closed and then I called and got the answering machine which said it was open Thursday through Sunday so I called again on Thursday and Ms. Anna Clarke (with an "e" which we don't have but which Anna clearly pointed out was just too bad) told me the daily specials and the rest of her menu.
Three of us went there on Thursday, four of us returned on Friday and six of us went on Saturday. We left on Sunday and so couldn't be there for the roast turkey dinner.
Accolades to Anna Clarke with an "e" for serving up a tremendous menu of food promptly and hot, delicious and beautifully presented.
We'll be back. Thanks, Anna, you run a tight ship, your place is great and we'll tell everyone.
