We stumbled upon The Toad and Tart on our third visit to St.Thomas. What a find! The first time we went for a few drinks late in the evening. While there we couldn't resist trying Anna's apple pie. The wonderful flavor of the pie enticed us into trying dinner the next night. Since then (five years already) we've been frequenting The Toad and Tart at least twice a week when we're on St. Thomas.
We especially like Anna's Clam Chowder, Roast Duck, Prime Rib and Shepards Pie. Anna is the proprietor and sole cook at the Toad and Tart. During the rare moments when she is not too busy, Anna likes to chat with her customers. Her gift for gab and pleasant banter are most refreshing. Tell her the plonkers from New Jersey sent you.
The decor at The Toad and Tart is funky English. It's a great place to relax,hob nob with the locals,shoot some darts or watch Benny Hill and Monty Python videos. We just love this place. Excellent,hearty, homemade English cooking!
The Toad and Tart is near Coral World, Coki Beach and also close to Red Hook on Smith Bay Road. We
will be there in February.
